Pay to Publish

At Sage we have a number of journals that have page or publication charges, these are referred to as Pay to Publish charges. Page and publication charges are only charged on subscription journals. When submitting an article to a journal, the submissions page will highlight if the journal has any page or publication charges. Please refer to our Which Sage Journals have Pay to Publish Charges? for the full list of journals with page or publication fees.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

Pay to Publish charges may often be mistaken with an Article Processing Charge (APC). An APC is a fee charged to facilitate the Open Access publication of an article. The APC can be paid by the author, their institution, or a funding body. It allows the article to be freely accessible to readers upon publication. APCs may vary from journal to journal, so it's advisable to check the specific journal's homepage on the Sage Journals Platform for the current APC rate.

For more information, please view How much is the article processing charge (APC)? or visit our Open Access Support Hub.
